The Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) is a single-day conference to help advance the achievements of Springfield High School students and help them gain access to higher education. YES sessions are broken into three tracks where students are separated by grade level level focusing on ethical leadership, cultural competence, community engagement, and a special senior level academy. These tracks are facilitated by Missouri State University staff and students as well as community members. This year's program will take place (TBD) with lunch provided to all attendants. The conference is free and open to any student. YES is planned by the NAACP Springfield Chapter and the Missouri State University Unit of Multicultural Services in conjunction with Missouri State Admissions and Enrollment Management and Springfield Public Schools.
